Public tutor profiles are limited to tutor ID, education, subjects, available areas, public exam results, tutoring experience, expected rate and approved poster media.

Information not published

The website does not publish names, phone numbers, email addresses, Instagram handles, identity or education documents, file links, raw submissions or private contact history.

Google Forms

Student and tutor registration uses Google Forms. Submitted information is transmitted under Google's service and privacy arrangements and used by Tutor Break for matching, contact and necessary information checks.

Google tutor sign-in

Tutors whose identity has been checked and linked by Tutor Break may sign in to the private tutor area with Google. The website verifies a short-lived Google identity credential and matches linked records using an irreversible keyed identity code. Tutor Break never receives or stores the Google password. An older manually entered email does not automatically gain access.

Private tutor-account data and immediate updates

The account shows an organised subset: tutor ID, website review state, education, university and major, tutor introduction, subjects, areas, public-exam information, experience, rate and screened qualifications. A linked tutor whose public profile is approved can edit selected public fields; after ownership, format and privacy checks, the website updates immediately and retains version and audit records. Public introductions are removed or rejected when they contain phone numbers, email, social handles or links. Account and amendment records exclude names, contact details, documents, Drive links, spreadsheet row numbers and internal review data. A secure cookie maintains the session until sign-out or expiry.

Tutor article contributions

Only a signed-in account linked to a tutor record can contribute. The site stores the tutor ID, category, Traditional Chinese and/or English title, summary and body, submission time and editorial status; the login email is not added to the article record. Contributions remain private drafts for editorial review and are never published automatically. Tutors can view only their own submissions, and access ends if the account link is revoked.

Website analytics

The website uses privacy-friendly first-party analytics to count page views, daily unique visitors and activity reported within the last five minutes. Your browser stores only a random identifier; the server keeps only an irreversible daily hash and aggregate counts by Hong Kong date. It does not store IP addresses, names, phone numbers, email addresses, account identifiers, user agents or referrers. You can opt out by enabling your browser's Do Not Track setting.

Device storage

Language preference and up to three saved tutors stay in your browser. Clearing browser data removes those settings; tutor sign-in sessions are managed separately by the website server.

Accuracy and updates

Public profiles are organised from submitted and approved information. Availability, schedule, format, rate and any updates are confirmed during matching.

Access, correction and account removal

Tutors with an approved public profile can edit selected public fields and sync them immediately. Changes to identity links, tutor IDs or private data, and account revocation, still require contacting @tutor_break. After revocation, the record is removed at the next private-data sync; an existing session may take a short time to become invalid everywhere.
